Sein Musikstil ist Poppige Reggae, Roots & Lovers Rock kombiniert mit viel afrikanischen Rhythmen und Elementen aus Rhythm & Blues. Seine Lieder singt er in Englisch und seiner Muttersprache. Auf der Bühne bietet er eine Show mit Tänzern und Background-Sängerinnen. Er spielt mit Musikern, die schon auf internationalen Bühnen Erfahrungen gesammelt haben, wie z. B. bei Hugh Masekela und Miriam Makeba. u.a. Er ist auf der Bühne ein Feuerwerk.

In an exciting career spanning over two decades he has gone from bubbly vocalist through introspective songwriter and lead singer to consummate musician, arranger, producer and enigmatic performer. He is a sheer delight to behold on stage. Rocky Dawunis musikalische Hommage an die Heilige Stadt. Dieser Videodreh war für Rocky sehr angstbesetzt, weil er zum Teil direkt am Kraterrand eines Vulkans stehen musste, den Abgrund vor Augen. So bekam der Song für Rocky im Nachhinein eine völlig andere Stimmung als zu der Zeit, als er ihn schrieb.
